Yesterday’s Hartshill Hayes event was the West Midlands round of the Yvette Baker competition. Congratulations to the Junior teams from Octavian Droobers and Harlequins who have qualified for the final in the Trophy and Shield respectively.
The West Midlands round of the Yvette Baker Trophy / Shield competition takes place on the 13th March at Hartshill Hayes, hosted by Octavian Droobers. It is also the next West Midlands League event. The details are here and entries close today – link Fabian4 here.

The 2022 League got off to a busy start with over 200 competitors at the Harlequins event, Dudmaston on Sunday.
The league points have been calculated and it’s looking good for another tight competition. OD lead by just 12 points from HOC, with Wrekin 15 points further back in third. More details on the West Midlands League page.
You next chance to score points for your club is on 6th February at Beaudesert, organised by Walton Chasers.
This is open to non club members for the first time, and the first event is in Lichfield on the 11th January.

The first West Midlands League event is at Dudmaston, Comer Woods, on Sunday 16th, organised by Harlequins Orienteering.
The closing date has been brought forward – ENTRIES ARE NOW CLOSING AT MIDNIGHT ON SUNDAY 9TH JANUARY so get your entries in via Fabian4 https://www.fabian4.co.uk/!
The only entries on the day will be limited numbers on White, Yellow and Orange.
Congratulations to Octavian Droobers who reclaimed the Trophy on the 1st January. And congratulations to Potteries Orienteering for hosting the event in very pleasant weather!
Gemma Block (WRE) won the TSB Mirror for Junior women and Alexander Evans (POTOC) won the TSB Trophy for Junior men.

This was held on Saturday 1st January 2022, at Parkhall Country Park and organised by Potteries Orienteering Club.
The Trophy is awarded to the club winning a 60-minute score event held every New Year’s Day in memory of Laurie Bradley, one of the pioneers of orienteering in the region and organised by WMOA clubs in turn.
Runners compete both as an individual and for their club; you don’t have to be a member of a West Midlands club to attend.
Octavian Droobers have won the 2021 West Midlands League. They pulled away from both Harlequins and Wrekin Orienteers after the final event on home territory, with Wrekin just squeezing past HOC by 10 points. Well done OD!
