Report by Adrian Pickles

Leeds is a long way for a short race, but at least you get two races in one day at the British Sprints. Four Wrekin orienteers made the journey to race around some complex buildings with access on different levels which results in some 3-dimensional map reading. At its most annoying you get to within 3m of the control, which turns out to be on another floor level with some steps between you.

As they battled with these challenges our representatives did not let us down; in the heats Di Jacks and Adrian Pickles qualified for the A-final in the W50 and the M65 classes respectively and both went on to finish 9th overall. In  the B finals for W50 and W65 Sarah Bayliss and John Broadhead Sarah finished 1st and John 5th . The sun shone, we ran as fast as we could and it was worth the journey.
